Favorite Engagement Session Locations Around Atlanta

I love having the opportunity to connect with my couples before their wedding day and one of the best ways to do so is at an engagement session. I thought it may be helpful to share my top favorite engagement session locations around Atlanta. There really are a lot of wonderful areas to photograph, however I personally find these three places diverse and great in every season.

Piedmont Park

Everyone loves Piedmont Park, and with good reason! It’s located near downtown Atlanta and provides a beautiful skyline view of the city. The park is 185 acres and has several large stone staircases and a lake. There are endless areas to photograph at, and you can even jump on the Beltline.

Planning Tip – If you’re planning to photograph at Piedmont Park, I strongly recommend checking their event calendar. The park is normally very busy on the weekends, especially if there is an event scheduled. I personally prefer to photograph here on weekday mornings!

Cator Woolford Gardens

Cator Woolford Gardens is a hidden gem! This venue is part of the Frazer Center and is located in the Druid Hills area. It is 39 acres of beautiful garden space. I always love to see the change in season here, and I really don’t think I will ever grow tried of photographing in this space.

Planning Tip – Traffic in this area is often heavy, plan to allow for extra time to arrive. If you haven’t visited before the gardens can be a little difficult to find as it is in a residential area.

Arabia Mountain

Arabia Mountain has become a popular location over the past two to three years. After photographing there several times, I can see why! It is a really unquiet area that offers a wide variety of options including: rock mountain top, green space, and an open field. While technically not located in Atlanta, it is a short (and worthwhile) drive from the city. I look forward to my next opportunity to explore this venue!

Planning Tip – The mountain top is a bit of a hike, be sure to allot extra time for your trip up. And be prepared for lots of wind!

I hope this post was helpful! There are so many other wonderful locations. If you have a favorite, I’d love to hear about it. Please leave a comment below to share.
